Obie

Alex O'Brien is a multitalented musician specializing in performing both recognizable cover tunes and original compositions, delivering aural satisfaction to anyone within an earshot. Shockingly, his first performance was at the age of three! He backed his father, also a musician, playing drums for their rendition of "Honky Tonk Woman" by The Rolling Stones. It wasn't until the age of 15 though, that Alex played guitar on stage. After that, he became very active, performing whenever possible throughout high school. Coffee shops, benefit concerts, and various school functions were all fair game. By the age of 20 Alex started showcasing his talent professionally at a multitude of venues.
Clearly his desire to perform was sparked at a very early age. It was certainly easy for him to find support considering both his mother and father are also talented musically. He fondly recalls his family mentioning that at least half of his attention was dedicated to listening to music. His musical influences range from modern artists such as John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Mac Miller, to legendary musicians like Bob Marley & Jimi Hendrix.
Alex finds that the most satisfying part of performing is being able to relate to people and connect with them. He admittedly has trouble self-identifying his style, but most closely classifies it as " Acoustic-Pop, Alternative, Rock, Indie, Singer-Songwriter." His ability to completely immerse himself in the music he performs is what sets him apart from other musicians. Alex recently had the opportunity to provide opening support for Andy Frasco & The UN and is always humbled by the amount of support he receives when performing in new places.
