Blessings from Billy was created to honor the life of Billy Ansel. When Billy was born, I was a young 16 year old who, with the love and support of my family, made the decision to place him for adoption. Billy was raised by a huge, loving family and became a funny, lovable, handsome young man. In January of 2013, all of my years of wondering came to an end with one simple call and a Facebook friend request from a “Will”. HOLY CRAP! It was Billy. Within days, we had the joyous reunion which can be summed up in one word – perfect. The months that followed gave so many happy memories. Billy meeting his BIOLOGICAL brothers was A-MAZING! Sean and Kevin just loved their big brother, Bill.

Soon after, Billy shared his struggles with me and openly shared his battle with addiction. One of the biggest demons of them all – heroin. Support, love and hope were provided throughout the years to him until the day he left us to be home. Billy passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016. He was 25 years old.

After many ideas on what I can do to help my grieving, help those in recovery and honor Billy, Blessings from Billy was created. We are a non-profit foundation. With the monies received, care packages are delivered to men and women who are new comers to Sober/Recovery Houses. They are provided with laundry soap, a bath towel, shower wash, shaving cream, razors, tooth brush, tooth paste as well as some feel good snacks for them. It’s my way of giving back. Letting these men and women know that we care, we want them to recover and we pray hard for their continued sobriety.

Small fundraisers, t-shirt sales as well as a future event in the planning is how we raise money. Donations are always welcome in the form of gift certificates, checks or basic toiletry items. Feel free to reach out to me here, by email (seannkev@yahoo.com) or by phone (text or call) 610-850-4389. Thank you for taking the time to read my (very abbreviated) story.

In loving memory of William E Ansel, III 2/13/91 – 2/19/16

Jacob Currie

Jacob Currie was blessed with the gift of music - to love, perform, and create it.  He remembers as a child the stirring, beautiful sound of his mother singing. He became a singer himself, was vocally trained and taught how to play the guitar in his early teens, and by the time he was in his twenties discovered the truly special gift of song writing ability.  Through all of the experiences of his life he has told his story through song.
