Trophy Husband

Trophy Husband is a fresh face to the live music scene in Boston. Composed of Donny DeFala (guitar), Max Kozol (bass), Ben Heck (drums), Dan “Chef” Zahal (Tenor Sax/Chapman Stick), and Ben Jordan (Bari/Tenor Sax) — classifying themselves as a new branch of music called Progressive Funk. Trophy Husband takes inspiration from a wide range of musical groups ranging from Heavy Progressive Rock (Animals As Leaders, Plini, Thank You Scientist) to Funk (Tower Of Power, Chicago, Ghost-Note). The band started their career in September of 2021, utilizing the Berklee ensemble rooms to perform tightly-packed mini shows. From there the band moved onto larger venues in the Boston area. On March 5th of 2022 Trophy Husband released their first EP, “What Would You Like For Dinner,” featuring their horn section called The Honorable Mentions.

Grozov was initially formed as a solo musical project in West Philly by Aidan Strauss (Lead Guitar/Vocals). Aidan wrote, recorded, and released an entire album by himself. When Aidan wanted to perform live at West Philly Porchfest he recruited Precious Hahn (Bass Guitar) and Colin McEllhenney (Drums) and then a few months later Gavin Koski (Guitar) and Zane Vakharia (Guitar). The music of Grozov takes inspiration from the ominous riffs of Black Sabbath, the brutality of Mayhem, and the intricate songwriting of System Of A Down. Since their first show, Grozov has played several shows in the Philadelphia area. From a self organized concert at a skatepark, to a variety of Philly house show venues, to playing on a radio station's live stage.
