About the event
Dating back to the 12th century, Troubadour refers to the song-meisters of the Middle Ages, but it has been extended to cover contemporary poet-musicians as well. Troubadour is a fitting name for such creative artists: it derives from an Old Occitan word meaning "to compose." Troubadours perform their own songs. Jongleurs (instrumentalists) and Cantaires (singers) also perform troubadours' songs.
Line-up for the Evening:
J.D Malone
Dad, husband, son, brother, friend, singer/songwriter, recovering philosopher. J.D Malone was born and raised under a bright blue sky in a small town called Bennington in the Green Mountain State of Vermont, U.S.A. He writes and sings songs about love and hate, angels and demons and the universal struggle to feel safe under the stars.
“J.D Malone writes songs that grab you right away and then resonate deeply.”
- Nick Cristiano (The Philadelphia Inquirer)

Brian Seymour
Far from lost and ready to be found, Brian Seymour is one of the most sincere performing songwriters that you have never heard of–think David Gray from Asbury Park. Inside his heartfelt folk-pop gems he can help you feel all the feels and stop the world from spinning four minutes at a time. Carrying a Ph.D. in the history of art, Seymour brings a unique perspective to the creative process, informing his crafted but hardly precious lyrics that pack a punch atypical among his peers. As a confident, seasoned performer, he charms audiences and draws everyone in close. At the piano or the podium, he guides us to our better selves with wit and wisdom.
Brad Hinton
Brad Hinton has been captivated by melodies since his childhood, whether he was cataloguing bird songs in the woods, listening to his pappy’s radio, or running through a song chart on his first instrument, the trumpet. These days, you can catch him with Hezekiah Jones, the Keystone Breakers, Hinton/Bower/Jones, Pocono Jones and the Bear and Hurlock & Hinton, and as producer/session musician on numerous projects for songwriters throughout the Philly metro.
Heather Hurlock
Anthems for the bold. Ballads for the brave. Stillness for wild hearts.
Heather Hurlock is a writer, editor, musician, and mindfulness teacher-in-training. She's dedicated her career to creating experiences that awaken awareness, deepen connection, and spark transformation, offering soulful navigation for those finding their way through this beautiful, messy world.
