Sawtooth Witch is a genre bending artist that mixes acoustic fingerstyle harmonies with electronic inspired dance beats featuring multi-instrumentalists Haley Fleming and Pat "Doc" Dougherty.
It started as a search for a new sound. Doc toured for years as an independent musician and took inspiration from every page of the American songbook. Slowly but surely they found what they were looking for playing in the bars and taverns up and down Highway 61 creating a sound that is a little bit country, blues, bluegrass, and everything in between.
Sawtooth Witch is a fiscal year 2024 recipient of a Creative Individuals Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Their debut album was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. It was recorded by Holly Hansen at Salon Sonics in Minneapolis and mixed by Nat Harvie. In the summer of 2025 it was named Best New Music by MSP Magazine and The Current.
