Jawn Of The Dead (JOTD) is an energetic tribute to the songwriting, style and musical tradition pioneered by the Grateful Dead, the godfathers of the jam band world. JOTD’s mission is to continue this tradition of fusing eclectic elements rock, blues, jazz, folk, country, bluegrass, rock and roll, gospel, reggae, world music and psychedelia with improvisation so that the music can be anything at any time, anywhere, like a “jawn” which can be anything you need it to be at any given time. In this musical stew, songs written by or made popular by the Grateful Dead make up the base. But everything and anything is fair game to be tossed into the pot and the flavors absorbed. The dedication of the band to both the songs of the Grateful Dead and their spirit of musical exploration sets them apart, as their growing audience are now discovering.
