And when they’re on stage completely captivating an audience without a bass player, and with nobody singing, there is no confusing them for any other artist on today’s scene. EMM! (Elliot, Milioti, Mann)

EMM! is a Philadelphia-area trio playing original music rooted in funk, jazz-rock fusion, soul, and blues. The band moves between instrumental compositions featuring angular rhythms, adventurous harmony, and improvisation, and original vocal songs influenced by classic soul and gospel songwriting. Their approach to groove draws from a wide range of influences, including New Orleans funk, occasional reggae rhythms, and Southern soul, with slide guitar adding another dimension to the sound.

The trio features guitarist and vocalist Brian Elliot, who leads his own musical projects as well as Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia Band tribute Cats On The Bus; bassist Anton Milioti of Crickets and Cicadas, known for their distinctive approach to Grateful Dead music; and drummer Jeff Mann of the longtime touring progressive fusion band Consider the Source.

While original music is the focus, EMM! also incorporates select covers into their live shows, choosing material that reflects their collective influences and musical strengths.

On Friday, November 27, 2026, EMM! celebrates the release of its debut album of original music with a special Black Friday album release show at Tonewood Brewing in Barrington, NJ.
