The Gem Bluegrass Brunch with Wes Johnson and Gabe Delp of Wood Flower

Join us for the first installment of our monthly Sunday Bluegrass Brunch at The Gem Music Hall. We are looking forward to bringing in some truly talented players and to start the series off is Wes Johnson and Gabe Delp. Ticket price includes ticket to event, a brunch buffet, and one mimosa.

Wes Johnson and Gabe Delp have been making music together since high school, when a friendship sparked in 2015 quickly turned into a musical partnership. What started as two buddies picking guitars grew into a shared love for the flat-picking bluegrass style, inspired by legends like Doc Watson, Tony Rice, and Bryan Sutton. 

By summer 2022, Wes and Gabe joined forces with Wood Flower, a rising bluegrass outfit performing across the region and along the East Coast. Together they’ve shared the stage with heavy hitters like Ricky Skaggs, Béla Fleck, The Seldom Scene, and East Nash Grass. In 2023, Wood Flower was named one of PhillyBluegrass.com’s “Top Ten Bluegrass Acts to See” - standing out as the only non-national band on the list.

Last spring, the band celebrated the release of their debut album, produced by Wes in his home studio alongside Jim Salamone of Cambridge Sound Studios. In addition, Wes and Gabe have begun recording a collection of their favorite tunes to flatpick and sing. This project is also being recorded and produced entirely by Wes in his home studio. Wes and Gabe deliver an authentic, high-energy show filled with driving guitar leads, tight harmonies, and fresh, creative spins on traditional fiddle tunes that keeps audiences coming back for more.
