Whoa Sequoia is the indie-jam/rock outfit of prolific Philadelphia-based Guitarist, Producer and Multi-Instrumentalist Brandon Meyer

In 2019, while living in Southern California, Meyer initially started Whoa Sequoia as an experimental home recording project for some new "lead guitar, synth and vocals-focused" material he had been working on.

Almost 50 new songs later, Meyer finally found his sound - a unique blend of blistering guitar solos, punchy synth lines and soft, layered vocals - which at points harkens to bands like The Flaming Lips, Dire Straits, My Morning Jacket, Ween, the Grateful Dead and more.

Meyer has since released 3 albums under the Whoa Sequoia banner: 2019's "First Array of Palm," 2020's quarantine-recorded, space-age concept album "The Geyser Saga", and 2022's well-received full-length "David Letterman." He plays all of the instruments on the recordings.

A self-taught guitarist, Meyer cites some of his many influences: Jerry Garcia, Al Di Meola, Mark Knopfler, Carlos Santana, Trey Anastasio, Vernon Reid, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Wayne Krantz and "hundreds of others."

Whoa Sequoia has also landed several notable TV/Film placements - on VICE, TruTV, a late night spot on Japanese TV, and the 2023 time-travel dramedy "Meet Cute", starring Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson. The Whoa Sequoia live band features a rotating cast of some of the country's finest live and studio musicians. Each performance and lineup leads to a new perspective on the songs, leading to some truly memorable improvisational moments.

Whoa Sequoia's newest album "Monoplane" will be released on Friday, March 15th, 2024.
